Palóc Ring SWS Rules

The following rules apply to the SWS Palóc Ring race.

Practice

  • Maximum 3 practice sessions/driver
  • If you would like to attend to all 3 practice sessions, then you have to arrive between 8:30-8:45

Kart allocation for Qualifying

  • The first driver who registered for the race will draw a kart number
  • Registered people will get the karts in increasing order

 Qualifying

  • 3 qualification session with 3 different karts
  • 1 out lap, 2 hot lap and  1 in lap  for each Qualification
  • 3 Qualification sessions  (for each race separately) in 2-3 groups

Kart allocation for Races

  • Top 10 will go to A final
  • Top 11-20 will go to B final
  • Each driver will draw a kart number for each right after the quails ended
    • Everybody will draw 3 times for 3 races

  • C finals will only be held if there are enough people

Starting procedure

  • Rolling start in single line
  • Reduced speed on the formation lap
  • During the formation lap overtake before the start line is forbidden.
  • The leading driver decides when to start accelerating between the 2 given points in the briefing

Weight/Ballast

  • For Sprint race and qualification the minimum weight limit is 85kg. Track provides weight
  • After the qualification and race a mandatory check applies to all driver regarding their weight
    • After getting out of the kart head straight to the weight scale
  • If driver does not reach the minimum weight, he/she will get last position

Balance of performance

  • The organizer can decide to add extra weight to the fastest karts
  • The organizer present  the BOP rules (extra weight assigned to the selected karts) before the kart selection.
  • For example if kart number 20 get extra 10 kg, the driver go with 85kg +10kg

Overtaking rules

  • Overtaking -> Half kart rule applies
  • Before the touch,  if the front tire is  in line with  the other kart rear tire, your overtake is valid. But only if the speed difference not big. You are not torpedo!!
  • However you have to leave enough space for the overtaken driver to stay on the track on the corner exit
  • Pushing other karts – especially on braking zone – and pushing out of the track is strictly forbidden and will be penalized

Defending rules

  • Only 1 defense and 1 normal heading change is allowed on the racing line. No zig-zags are allowed
  • If a driver racing next to you, having the half kart rule, enough space should be left for overtaking. Nor pushing or closing the gap is allowed
  • If you push other kart out of the track limits , you will get penalized

Medals

  • 3 SWS race with 3 results recorded in SWS
  • The organizer awards medals only for top 3 driver of the day
  • The driver of the day award  is based on the following distribution of points for each race Points: 1-25, 2-20, 3-16, 4-13, 5-11, 6-10 etc. The Top3 highest ranked drivers get medals
